PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anvil assembly for selective cooperation with a horn operatively connected to an ultrasonic wave generator such as to enable a textile workpiece disposed between the horn and the anvil assembly to be cut and the cut edges to be sealed. SOLUTION: This anvil assembly 10 comprising an anvil 30 and a cradle 20, the anvil adapted to be selectively mountable on the cradle in any one of at least two mounting positions, wherein corresponding to each mounting position the anvil 30 comprises one peaked longitudinal cutting edge 32 and a corresponding engagement section substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the anvil. |
