DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMAGE PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for image processing which can perform color printing without any color slurring at an edge part of a black character or black line even when a document having a color and a monochromatic part is printed. SOLUTION: Image data are inputted to a monochromatic part decision means 7 of an image processing part to decide a monochromatic part. Then a color slurring decision means 8 decides color slurring and a color. Then a color redecision means 9 decides a color part again to make a color/ monochromatic decision while input deviation at a color image input part 1 is taken into account. Then a color print engine part performs color printing by putting color pixels one over another for a color decided part and printing using only monochromatic elements for a monochromatic decided part, thereby printing a document having both the color and monochromatic parts without causing color slurring at an edge part of a black character or black line.
