PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium-titanium multiple oxide excellent in operability when an electrode for a lithium secondary battery or the like is manufactured and to provide the lithium secondary battery excellent in characteristics. SOLUTION: The secondary battery is manufactured by using the lithium- titanium multiple oxide which is obtained by forming spherical secondary particles having 1-50 μm particle size by aggregating primary particles and has 0.5-10 m2/g specific surface area and the principal component of which consists of Li4/3Ti5/3O4.
