PURPOSE: A crankshaft pulley is provided to reduce the combustion noise radiated from an engine by installing a sound absorbing member in the side of a crankshaft pulley. CONSTITUTION: A bolt hole(5) is formed on the circumference of a crankshaft pulley(3), and a sound absorbing member(7) is formed to absorb the noise transmitted from a crankshaft via the bolt hole. The sound absorbing member comprises a sound absorbing cap(9), a sound absorbing material(11), and a bush member(15). The sound absorbing cap having a flange(19) is mounted on the crankshaft pulley by inserting the bush member into the bolt hole and a mounting hole(17) of the flange and fitting a bolt(13) into the bush member. The sound absorbing cap is preferably made of plastic, and the bush member is made of rubber to absorb shear stress due to the torque of the crankshaft pulley. The combustion noise transmitted from the crankshaft pulley is absorbed in the sound absorbing material in the sound absorbing cap.
