The inventive device for an electrooptical examination of cells comprises the following: an electrooptical cell (1) provided with translucent windows (19) and thirteen electrodes (20-32) placed in five rows between said windows (19). A middle electrode (26) from the middle range is the central electrode. The device also comprises: impulsive light sources (2, 3) optically linked to a light sensitive cell (8) which is connected to a unit for determining a difference in the intensities of light fluxes, two groups consisting of the following equipment connected in series: a generator (12, 15), an attenuator (13, 16), a vaporphase amplifier (14 or 17) and a commutator of electrodes (18) inlets of which are connected to outlets of the vaporphase amplifiers (14, 17). The inventive method for the electrooptical examination of cells consists in an electrical action of at least two alternate electrical fields on a suspension of a superposition that is to be examined. Simultaneously, interperpendicular light fluxes are alternately transmitted through said suspension. Once the intensity of the light fluxes passing through the suspension has been measured, their difference as a value of the electro optical signal depending on a change of at least one parameter of the electrical action is determined. On the basis of said dependency the prescribed parameters of the cells is determined.
