PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a creamy, and smooth solid cosmetic excellent in spreadability with dense feeling without feeling oiliness and stickiness, having adequate moisture-retaining feeling and excellent in dimensional stability. SOLUTION: This solid cosmetic contains a component (a) of a polyethylene glycol having 1,000-10,000 average molecular weight, and a component (b) of a powder. Preferably, the solid cosmetic further contains a component (c) of a polyhydric alcohol except the component (a). More preferably, the solid cosmetic is characterized in that the solid cosmetic is used by using water.
