PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the effect of cache is lowered by overwriting new data in the case of writing into a cache even when the cache has data of high reference frequency concerning a storage system with packaged cache. SOLUTION: This storage system is provided with a cache for caching user data, a cache information storage means for holding information for cache resident support, a command receiving means for receiving a command for the cache resident support, and a recording setting means for setting recording for cache resident.
