The side channel machine has at least one rotor wheel having a carrier ring (1) provided with a number of peripheral rotor vanes (2) contained within a side channel, each having front and rear surfaces and a side flank (3) facing the side channel, which projects forwards from the centre of the rotor blade relative to the rotation direction. The radially outer part of the rotor blade front face is inclined in the rotation direction to form an angle of less than 90 degrees between the extension of the rotor blade outer part and the tangent to the envelope curve of the rotor blade outer edges.
