PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that setting of jam detection condition is hard in the case of complicated carrier path in a jam detection method using a sensor detecting a recording sheet travelling on the path. SOLUTION: In this device, a jam is detected based on state information on a recording paper sheet at the time when a synchronous carrier means is started for carrying a sheet of paper synchronously with image formation by an image forming means. The state information includes operational information on a motor and a clutch which constitutes the carrier means. |
