PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use of an apoptosis inducing agent having high safety as a cancer-treating drug or a carcinogenesis preventing food. SOLUTION: The apoptosis inducing agent contains sesamine and/or episesamine and/or sesamol as active components. The cancer treating agent and food are produced taking advantage of the apoptosis inducing potency of the above components.
