The appliance has a forming unit (1), a closure device, and a forming tool (3). The forming unit has two or more feeding sides (S1,2,3) to transfer the forming tool from the closure device into the forming unit. Each feeding side has an associated closure unit (2a,b,c). The number of feeding sides and closure units is determined automatically dependent upon the cycle times of the forming process, according to main cycle time of the forming unit and auxiliary cycle time of the closure device.
