PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for an information magnetic storing medium, which has a state where the crystalline particles of uniform particle size are uniformly distributed over the whole area of a coating film of a magnetic medium formed on the substrate and to be able to cope with the future tendency to have high recording density. SOLUTION: This glass ceramic constituting the information magnetic storage medium contains crystals of the oxide of at least one element selected from among Fe, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu and V as the component.
