1329477 Polysulphide compositions THIOKOL CHEMICAL CORP 5 July 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 31485/71 Heading C3R A curable polysulphide polymer composition with improved resistance to loss of adhesion to glass exposed to ultraviolet radiation comprises a liquid polysulphide polythiol polymer, a water-activatable calcium peroxide curing agent in an amount of 2-20 parts per 100 p.b.w. ofthe polymer, and at least 2 parts per 100 p.b.w. of the polymer of a carbon black having a particle size equal to or less than 30 mÁ. Suitable polymers have the general formula HS(RSS) x SH where R is a divalent, aliphatic organic radical which may contain O or S in the carbon chain and x has a value such that the molecular weight of the polymer is between 500 and 25,000. Conventional additives may be present. Uses.-Adhesives, particularly for glass to metal surfaces. |
