STILL PICTURE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still picture display device which reproduces compressed data of plural still pictures temporally related to sound data without skipping even in the case of a short display interval of these compressed data and enables a user to recognize display contents. SOLUTION: A sound reproducing part 2 reproduces sound data from a recording medium 1 where sound data and compressed data of plural still pictures temporally related to the sound data are recorded, and an expansion processing part 3 performs expansion processing of compressed data of still pictures. Pixels in horizontal and vertical directions of still picture data outputted from the expansion processing part 3 are thinned by a horizontal and vertical-direction pixel thinning processing part 4 to generate reduced still picture data. At the time of cue/review reproducing of sound data, a memory control part 6 can generate multi-screen still picture data composed of plural temporally different reduced still picture data.
