PURPOSE: A compressor is provided to reduce manufacturing cost by simplifying the structure and reducing parts count, while achieving an improved compression performance. CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a closed container(41) having an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe(43); a motor unit(M) mounted within the closed container and which generates driving force; a cylinder assembly(50) forming an inner space and which has a plurality of inlet channels(53) and outlet channels(54) communicated to the inner space formed by the cylinder assembly; a rotation axis(60) coupled to a rotor(45) of the motor unit and which penetrates through the center of the cylinder assembly; a sectioning plate(70) coupled to the rotation axis within the cylinder assembly and which sections the inner space of the cylinder assembly into a first space(51) and a second space(52); vanes(80) penetrating through the cylinder assembly and which contact both side surfaces of the sectioning plate and converts the first and second spaces into a suction area and a compression area, respectively, in accordance with the rotation of the sectioning plate; and an opening/closing unit(90) for opening/closing the outlet channels of the cylinder assembly and discharging the gas compressed in the first and second spaces.
