PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission that suppresses a pressing force as low as possible and reduces rolling fatigue, by controlling the pressing force at a contact between an input/output disk and a power roller responsive to a change gear ratio and transmission torque. SOLUTION: A lifting amount of a lever 118 of a change gear ratio control mechanism 109 is changed by a cam 113 according to a tilting/rolling angle of a trunnion representing a changg gear ratio of this toroidal-type continuously variable transmission. In a pressure difference control mechanism 110, a pressure differenceΔP of oil pressure of a hydraulic actuator for driving the trunnion in the tilting/rolling shaft direction due to transmission torque is fed into a modification/reference pressure setting valve 111 and a hydraulic energizing means 112, and based on a modification/reference pressure Pmf outputted in response to a balance between rods 121, 122 of the lever 118, a line pressure supplied to a hydraulic loader for pressing a power roller between input/output disks is modified.
