PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of molded active carbon capable of efficiently producing an arbitrary shaped and sized molded active carbon including an activating process for active carbon by an electric heating. SOLUTION: This production method of molded active carbon includes, mixing and kneading a binder 4 to active carbon material and then obtaining a molding 13 of a desired shape and size by a press or the like, placing the obtained molding 13 in an activating room provided with a countering electrode pair 11 and circumference of the molding 13 at least the space to the electrodes 11 is filled with a filler 14 comprising powder or particulate or their mixture of a material having low electrical resistance, heating to a predetermined temperature by turning on electricity between electrodes 11 and then spraying an activating gas 16, and then activating by raising to a proper temperature and retaining at the proper temperature. |
