PURPOSE:To form the rhythm information which is natural and with which the meaning carried by spoken words is easily understandable by calculating the continuation time of the pause in the spoken words from the semantic relation in the concept structure indicating the semantics of the spoken words and the syntax construction of the spoken words formed from the intermediate expression thereof. CONSTITUTION:The continuation time of the pause in the spoken words is calculated from the semantic relation in the concept structure indicating the semantics of the spoken words, the syntax construction of the spoken words formed from the intermediate expression thereof and the vocabulary information of the form element array formed from this syntax construction. Namely, a syntax forming section 201 is inputted with the concept structure and forms the syntax construction. A rhythm information forming section 202 is inputted with the concept structure and the syntax construction and calculates and outputs the succeeding pause lengths of respective accent clauses and the degrees of the rebuilding of the talking tone components of intonation and the inclination thereof as well as the degrees of talkative stresses. The rhythm information which reflects the semantics indicated by the spoken words and the phraseological information, such as the focus of conversations, and which is natural and with which the contents of the spoken words are easily understandable is formed in this way. |
