PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in an antenna gain caused through the provision of a radome in the antenna system configured by covering an antenna placed on a ground plate with the radome. SOLUTION: In the case of configuring the antenna system by covering a reflection plate 3 and the antenna 4 placed on the ground plate 1 with the radome 2, a distance between the ground plate 1 and the radome 2 is selected so that the antenna gain in a prescribed direction is equal to or more than that with the case having no provision of the radome. Especially preferably, a mean distance between the ground plate 1 and the radome 2 in an area where the antenna 4 is placed is selected to be a multiple of 3/4 of a wavelength of a communicated signal or over and the wavelength or below. Furthermore, when the thickness of the radome is a multiple of 1/8 of the wavelength, the mean distance is selected to be a multiple of 9/16 of the wavelength or over and a multiple of 5/4 of the wavelength or below.
