PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety and to uniformly heat an inner pot in a rice cooker using a halogen heater. SOLUTION: In this electric cooker provided with a cooking part 22 interposed in a cooker body 20, a heater 37 arranged with an interval at the cooking part 22 for generating electromagnetic waves and a protective plate 38 disposed between the cooking part 22 and the heating heater 37 for transmitting the electromagnetic waves from the heating heater 37, for the protective plate 38, the transmissivity of the electromagnetic waves is raised more as separating from the heating heater 37 more.
