PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a starting failure when the ambient temperature is low, by temporarily stopping the operation before its completion, when the ambient temperature is lower than a prescribed temperature, by splashing waterdrops flowing down on the body bottom side in re-operating, and by preventing the freezing between labyrinth seals. SOLUTION: When a temperature sensor 21 in a body senses that the ambient temperature is lower than a prescribed temperature, the operation is temporarily stopped before its completion by a controller 18. Waterdrops flowing down in the body bottom side are splashed by re-operating so that the waterdrops between labyrinth seals recess-projection connected in non-contacted state are splashed and freezing of a clearance between the labyrinth seals is prevented. This machine uses an intermittent operation (selection of soft guard) for holding the clothes into a soft touch and also prevents the freezing. This constitution thus splashing the waterdrops accumulated between the labyrinth seals so as to prevent the freezing, causes no starting failure, even when the ambient temperature is low, and to be able to expand the using conditions.
