PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the practicability of a printing job before the starting of the execution of the printing job and realize the outputting of status information to a personal computer when the new printing job is accepted under the condition that the preceding printing job is held on a printer. SOLUTION: This controlling part 21 calculates the estimated residual amount of expendables at the starting time point of the execution of a newly accepted printing job or the like on the basis of the amount of the expendables detected by a detecting part 26 or the like and the usage of the expendables used in the preceding printing job stored in a storage part 23. Further, the controlling part 21 compares the estimated residual amount with the usage of the expendables used in the newly accepted printing job so as to judge whether the newly accepted printing job can be practicable in future or not. The result of the judgment is outputted through I/F parts 25 and 14 to a personal computer 10 as status information so as to be displayed on a status displaying part 15 at an early point of time.
