PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical surface working method and its device capable of generating a spherical surface having a radius smaller than usual and requiring no redesign of a grinding wheel even when the grinding wheel wears and the spherical surfaces of different radii are worked. SOLUTION: This spherical surface working method and device works the surface of a workpiece 7 having a cylindrical through hole 8 so as to generate a spherical surface of a desired radius R. The workpiece 7 disposed inside the ring of a ring-like grinding wheel 13 having a grinding face 12 on an internal wall is rotated around a rotating shaft 9 inserted into the through hole 8, the ring-like grinding wheel 13 is rotated so that the center of the ring draws a circular path of a suitable radius, and R, an angleθbetween the rotating plane of the ring-like grinding wheel 13 and the rotating shaft 9, and a length X of the through hole 8 are set to meet the equation sinθ=X/2R.
