PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic capable of compatibilizing the skin-care effect and the hair-care effect at a high level by including a specific polyether. SOLUTION: The objective cosmetic contains a polyether expressed by formula [X]m-[Y]n [the m X-groups are each a group expressed by formula I (R1 to R3 are each H, methyl or ethyl; G is a 1-20C bivalent saturated hydrocarbon group or a 6-30C arylene, R4 to R8 are each a 1-30C hydrocarbon group or a 1-200 Si siloxy or polysiloxy group; (a) is 1 or 2; (b) is 0 or 1; (c) is numbers having an average value of 1-500 or a single integer of 1-20), the n Y-groups are group of formula II, formula III or formula (CH2)f-O (R13 to R14, R17 and R18 are each H, methyl or ethyl; R16 is a 1-32C hydrocarbon group; R19 and R20 are each H, carboxyl or the like; (e) is 1 or 2; (f) is 2-6); (m) and (n) are numbers satisfying the formulas m/(m+n)=0.2 to 1 and m+n>=10]. The content of the polyether is preferably 0.001-30 wt.%.
