PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fishing rod having a strength capable of enduring a big bend and also a flexibility dealing with a fishing state, easy for feeling the flection during the fishing and excellent in fishing operability. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is provided by installing plural guides from the rod base side to tip end side of a rod tube body 1, and at the rod base side, equipping a grip part 3 and a handle part 7 arranged at a rear direction to the grip part and capable of mounting a reel. The rod tube body is formed by winding a fiber-reinforced prepreg 15 around a solid core material 13 from at least a position of a first guide 9a installed as closest to the rod based side over to the grip part, and the handle part has >=2 folds rigidity than that of the grip part. Between the rod tube body and the grip part, a reinforcing layer 67 having a softer quality (low elasticity) than the rod tube body and a harder quality than that of the grip part, is formed, and the reinforcing layer is constituted by impregnating a fibrous yarn material wound around the rod tube body in its circumferential direction with a synthetic resin.
