<p>The present invention relates to a method, and apparatus for performing a tibial osteotomy to correct misalignment of the knee joint. The apparatus comprises an arcuate wedge implant (1), a temporary chock (14), and an insertion tray (20) which facilitates the packing of bone growth material in the implant. In the method, preoperative evaluation includes a balancing of the lateral push pull forces through the knee before selecting the wedge implant (1) so that a balanced load through the knee is achieved.</p> |
