PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the opening and/or closing drive of a shuttering device in a wrapping and cutting apparatus on the basis of various kinds of operating patterns. SOLUTION: An operating pattern generator constituted in such a way that the opening and closing operation of a shuttering device 9 in a wrapping and cutting apparatus 1 is carried out on the basis of operating patterns suitable for wrapping and cutting operations is coupled with a control motor 41 in an interlocked state. In this method for the opening and/or closing drive of the shuttering device 9, the opening and/or closing operation of the shutter is carried out on the basis of composite operating patterns of the operating pattern of the control motor 41 with the operating pattern generated by the operating pattern generator. This wrapping and cutting apparatus is equipped with an operating pattern generator generating operating patterns for the opening and/or closing operation of the shuttering device 9. A controller controlling the control motor 41 is equipped with an operating pattern- forming means forming desired operating patterns. The shuttering device 9 is driven on the basis of composite operating patterns of operating patterns formed by the operating pattern-forming means with the operating pattern generated by the operating pattern generator.
