PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent large moment from being applied to a forklift truck for storing an article to be stored and to prevent a carriage carrying an undelivered article from self-advancing when the article stored stored in a previous storage position is taken out. SOLUTION: In this storing device, articles to be stored mounted on a carriage 4 moving on rails 2, 2 are successively stored from one end side in the longitudinal direction of the rails 2, 2 to the other end side, so that, starting from the articles to be stored stored on the one end side, the articles can successively be taken out. In this case, the storing device is provided with a belt-like engaged body 3 stretched along the rails 2, 2 and a motor 7 to which a rolling wheel 71 rolling while engaged with the belt-like body 3 is connected and which is installed in the carriage 4. The motor 7 is installed in the carriage 4, and the motor 7 moves the carriage 4.
