PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manganese dry cell of such a structure that the open end of a negative electrode zinc can is bent onto the outer peripheral cylinder of a seal body for sealing without using any metal jacket, wherein a positive electrode terminal board is precluded from dislocation or slipping off from the seal to cause oxygen in the atmosphere to intrude into the battery when the open end of the zinc can is to be bent for sealing or the internal pressure of the battery has heightened resulting from gas generation, whereby occurrence of self-discharging is prevented and the storing performance is enhanced. SOLUTION: The periphery of a positive electrode terminal plate 1 bent into a U-section contacts with the inner wall of an outer cylindrical part 11 on a coupling part 12 of a seal 2, and the bend 1a bent outward is fitted in a groove 11a provided in the seal body, and the outer cylindrical part of the seal is furnished above the groove 11a with a slope 11b inclined so that the side nearer the periphery becomes thinner, and the open end of the zinc can 4 is bent toward the slope so that sealing is established. Thus an intended manganese dry cell is completed. |
