PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing capable of maintaining the gap of a nanometer order by eliminating adhesion between solid surfaces caused by a meniscus. SOLUTION: Molecules adsorbed on the surface of a magnetic disk 3 are desorbed by heat from a heat source, a meniscus is eliminated, a slider 2 is caused to float by the desorbed molecules, and thereby the gap of a nanometer order is maintained between the slider 2 and the surface of disk 1. Thus, a stable load ability is obtained without any dependence on a relative sliding speed like a dynamic pressure bearing. In other words, when a load is constant, the stable gap is maintained irrespective of the sliding speed. That is, the no- wearing and semi-permanent bearing is provided, which is capable of completely preventing contact between solid surfaces in a process of starting/stopping.
