<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the effective retention of the freshness of vegetables or fruits, such as lettuce, asparagus, green soybeans or green peas with pods, and provide the commodity having a good appearance, by performing simple works. SOLUTION: This method for retaining the freshness of vegetables or fruits comprises immersing tourmaline in stored water, washing the vegetables or fruits with the obtained tourmaline water, and then shipping the washed vegetables or fruits, or cutting off the roots of the harvested vegetables or fruits, washing the cut faces of the vegetables or fruits with the tourmaline water, and then shipping the washed vegetables or fruits. The method for packing the vegetables or fruits comprises enclosing the vegetables or fruits and the tourmaline with a packing material and then shipping the enclosed vegetables or fruits and tourmaline, or sealing the vegetables or fruits and the tourmaline in a packing material.</p> |
