MULTI-WAVELENGTH SELECTION FILTER DEVICE AND ITS LIGHT OUTPUT COMPENSATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a multi-wavelength selection filter device into a proper state by detecting whether the cause of the weakness of a light output signal resides in an SOA(semiconductor optical amplifier) type optical gate or in an array lattice. SOLUTION: This multi-wavelength selection filter device for selecting a target wavelength light from wavelength multiplexed light is provided with an optical wavelength branching filter having an output port group corresponding to the target wavelength light, an optical gate group 103-106 provided at the output side of the output port group of the optical wavelength branching filter, a driving means for driving the optical gate group 103-106, backward electromotive force measuring means 113-116 for measuring the backward electromotive force of the optical gate group, and a means for controlling wavelength branched by the optical wavelength branching filter on the basis of the outputs of the backward electromotive force measuring means 113-116.
