PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use both coins (bank bills) and a card by providing a dummy coin mechanism for a negotiable medium as a slave control part and providing a relay device equipped with the respective interfaces of a standard coin mechanism an the dummy coin mechanism. SOLUTION: A bank bill identifying device 101 for identifying the denomination of a bill or the like is connected to the main control part 100 of an automatic vending machine and a card slave is connected as standard equipment. A coin mechanism port 200 as an interface corresponding to a standard coin mechanism 210 is connected to the relay device and a coin mechanism port 201 corresponding to a non-contact IC card reader/writer(R/W) unit 211, a coin mechanism port 202 corresponding to a contact IC card R/W unit 212 and a coin mechanism port 203 corresponding to a magnetic card R/W unit 213 are provided. Then, the relay device switches the standard coin mechanism 210 of the automatic vending machine and the dummy coin mechanism linked with an amount information transmission unit as needed.
