<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a liquid crystal displaying plate at a higher frequency. SOLUTION: This display comprises a detecting electrode 2, which is coupled in static capacitance manner to the internal conductor 1a of a power cable 1, a divider circuit 3 which divides the frequency of an AC voltage V1 generated at the detecting electrode 2 and outputs a frequency divided signal S1, when the power cable is in a conducted state, a liquid crystal drive signal generating means 4 which generates a liquid crystal drive signal, whose frequency is the same as that of the frequency divider signal S1 and whose phase with respect to the signal S1 is reversed periodically, and a liquid crystal displaying plate 5 which has liquid crystal electrodes 5a, 5b arranged facing each other sandwiching a liquid crystal 5c, such that the frequency divider signal S1 is impressed to one liquid crystal electrode 5a, and the liquid crystal drive signal to the other liquid crystal electrode 5b.</p> |
