Determining the effect of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy on malignancies, comprising determining the expression profiles of genes that regulate apoptosis and/or cell growth and/or determining individual differences in the gene sequences and identifying, characterizing and diagnostically evaluating differences due to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a method for selecting malignancy therapies, comprising determining the status of cell cycle and/or apoptosis-associated genes, or their products in body fluids, cells and/or organs ex vivo, and selecting therapeutic measures effective for this status.
