<p>The present invention provides a nonlinear polyester-based varnish and UV-curable ink compositions containing the polyester-based varnish. The polyester-based varnish is prepared by reacting a polyester oligomer, which is preferably nonlinear, with a novolac epoxy resin. The novolac epoxy resin preferably has a functionality of from about two to about twelve. The polyester oligomer is prepared from a polycarboxylic acid component, a polyol component, and a rosin component.</p> |
