PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent the overheating in a non-passing part for various recording materials and to enhance durability by a control means which controls the on-off ratio of a switching means for forming an electrically closed circuit by using conductors according to the kinds of the recording materials. SOLUTION: The ring conductor 7 is disposed with insulation-coated electrically good conductor so as to approximately turn around part of a magnetic path generated by an excitation coil 4. The switching circuit 41 is a relay having a movable contact and opens and closes the circuit constituted of the relay conductor 7 by opening and closing this relay. The control circuit 100 stores the information on the kinds of the recording materials to be used in a storage device 101 and controls the ratio to open and close the relay of the switching circuit 41 by utilizing the information on the size among such information, thereby making it possible to lessen the overheating in the non-passing part even for the recording materials of the sizes between the largest size recording material and the smallest size recording material.
