PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart high glossiness, to reduce the difference in glossiness between an area where toner is thick and an area where toner is thin, to increase the clearness of an image, and to obtain a copy having an image quality nearly equal to that of a photograph by incorporating water-soluble and/or water- dispersible polyester resins into an accepting layer. SOLUTION: The image accepting material contains a support and an accepting layer. The accepting layer contains water-soluble and/or water- dispersible polyester resins. The water-soluble and/or water-dispersible polyester resins contained in the accepting layer are reaction products of 20 to 50 wt.% terephthalate, polymer 10 to 40 wt.% glycol and 5 to 25 wt.% alkoxylated polyol. The molecular weight of each polyester resin is in the range of 1,000 to 20,000, preferably 2,000 to 10,000 and each polyester resin has a glass transition temp. Tg of <=60 deg.C, especially -15 to 60 deg.C. Further, the mixture which contains the polyester resins in the ratio of the water-soluble polyester resin to the water-dispersible polyester resin of 1:3 to 3:1 is preferable.
