Ultra-thin, compact, adherent, adjustable electrical conductivity polymer layer production on oxidic particles, by adding monomer solution covered particles to an oxidizing agent solution, is new. Production of ultra-thin, compact, adherent polymer layers of adjustable electrical conductivity on oxidic particle surfaces comprises oxidative treatment of the particle surfaces directly with a solution of monomers, which form intrinsically conductive polymers, by mixing the particles with the monomer solution and then adding to a separate solution comprising the oxidizing agent. An Independent claim is also included for oxidic particles having ultra-thin, compact, adherent polymer layers of adjustable electrical conductivity formed directly on their surfaces by the above process.
