PURPOSE: A method for supplying a telephone having an advertising function is provided to update advertisements by equipping a supplementary switch in an office line, and by storing advertisement updating data in an electrically programmable read only memory(EPROM). CONSTITUTION: A method for supplying a telephone having an advertising function comprises the steps of: receiving an advertisement from an advertiser to store the advertisement in a telephone memory, and subtracting a telephone sales cost as an advertising cost; identifying whether a purchased telephone is in a call mode state by operating a hook switch; if not, identifying which mode an advertising system is; and if the mode is a voice mode, outputting the advertisement with a voice, and if the mode is a display mode, displaying the advertisement.
