PURPOSE: A device for an on screen display(OSD) is provided to generate a fast blanking(FB) signal blanking a part of a video signal corresponding to characters or graphics to be displayed on a screen. CONSTITUTION: A device for an on screen display(OSD), displays specific characters and graphics corresponding to an input signal from an external. A microcomputer(14) outputs a fast blanking(FB) signal corresponding to the input signal, and controls every circuit. A video signal switching circuit(16) switches the path of a video signal corresponding to the FB signal. While the FB signal has a high level, the inflow of the video signal to a cathode ray tube(CRT,20) is intercepted. And while the FB signal has a low level, the video signal is transmitted to the CRT. |
