PURPOSE: An open showcase having a plate type sensible heat exchanger installed in an air inlet is provided to reduce cooling load and operating costs. CONSTITUTION: In an open showcase having a plate type sensible heat exchanger installed in an air inlet including a showcase main body(1) forming an external appearance of the showcase, a cool air circulation duct(5) in which cool air circulates, a ventilator(4) for transferring the cool air, a ventilator(3) installed in the inside of an air circulation duct for air curtain for circulating air curtain air(14), honey-combs(8,9) discharging the cool air and the air, a storage room(10) storing and displaying passive freezing material, a shelf(11) installed in the storage room, an evaporator(7) installed in the cooling air circulation duct, and the plate type sensible heat exchanger(13), high temperature air passes through one surface(12) of the plate type sensible heat exchanger with making part of the cool air(17) pass through the other surface(16) for exchanging heat, thereby reducing cooling load of the evaporator, and part of the cool air circulates through the air circulation duct for air curtain and discharged to the atmosphere for forming low temperature air curtain, thereby reducing cooling load of the showcase.
