PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent traffic congestion from occurring in a local node in the vicinity of a server with small line capacity by making a client transmitting a request token distribute a command string directly to a printer. SOLUTION: When a client 1[3] distributes print data to a network printer 3[1], it transmits the first request token designating the printer 3[1] to a server 2. The server 2 returns a start token 12 to the client 1[3] when the printer 3[1] becomes in a printing standby state. The client 1[3] distributes a printing command string 14 directly to a selected prescribed network printer 3[1] without the intervention of the server 2. As a result, a server 2 that is subject to congestion receives and returns only a request token 11 and a start token 12 with a small data amount. A printing command string 14 with a large data amount is distributed directly to the printer 3[1].
