A polymeric compound which combines high ionic conductivity with high tackiness and excellent shape retention and has a polyvinyl alcohol segment having an oxyalkylene chain; a composition for ionically conductive solid polymers which comprises as major ingredients the polymeric compound, an ionically conductive salt, and a compound having a crosslinkable functional group; an ionically conductive solid polyelectrolyte; a binder resin comprising as major ingredients the polymeric compound and the compound having a crosslinkable functional group; and a secondary battery containing these.
