PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin cosmetic having no problem such as irritant feeling to skin or safety, as well as capable of effectively removing unnecessary keratinocytes causing drabness of the skin. SOLUTION: This keratin-removing skin preparation for external use is obtained by including at least one kind of surfactant selected from the following as active ingredient: (1) a polyethylene (n) higher alkyl ether (wherein the higher alkyl refers to as a 12-20C straight-chain alkyl group or a cholesteryl group, and n indicates an integer of 9 to 25), (2) mono-higher fatty acid polyethylene glycol (m) (wherein the higher fatty acid refers to as a 14-20C straight-chain saturated fatty acid, and m indicates an integer of 10 to 40), and (3) mono-higher fatty acid polyoxyethylene (m) sorbitan (wherein the higher fatty acid and m are each the same as stated above in (2)).
