<p>In view of the fact that in snowy cold districts, many traffic fatal accidents occur every day in wintertime, an automobile emergency stopping device for exclusive use on icy crusts is installed on an automobile, thereby doing away with victims of tire-skidding accidents. When the device-actuating button (30) of the automobile emergency stopping device for exclusive use on icy crusts installed in the driver's seat is pressed, a wire (37) slacks, allowing a gear box (5) to fall until a main drive gear (15) contacts a tire (24), whereby the main drive gear is rotated, causing crampons (9) at the front end of the gear (2) to firmly grip the surface of the icy crust. Then, the rear portion of the undercarriage is lifted together with the tire (24), resulting in the car weight being concentrated on the crampons (9) at the front end, pressing the crampons (9) hard against the road surface to increase the stopping force to be exerted on the automobile; thus, the automobile is completely stopped. This device has an effect that the worse the icy crust conditions, the stronger the stopping force.</p> |
