PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin processor high in coin identification precision and capable of reducing coin amounts to be returned as rejected coins. SOLUTION: This coin processor has an image sensor 30 detecting the surface design of a coin C and an inspecting part 7 provided integrally with a diameter sensor 40 detecting the outer diameter of the coin and a material sensor 60 detecting the material of the coin. The image sensor has a transparent plate 31 being a part of a carrying surface 6 carrying the coin and detects the image of the coin moved on the transparent plate between a 1st carrying belt 5 which is divided in the outer area of the an effective detection area of the transparent plate and carries the coin to the transparent plate and a 2nd carrying belt 5b which further carries the coin made to pass the effective detection area. Thus, the boundary between an image and the belts is prevented from being unidentifiable because the carrying belts are projected in the coin image detected by the image sensor to improve detection precision.
