PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a thrust when a pipe is laid by driving forward a pipe such as a vinyl chloride pipe and facilitate an arranging work for propulsion and a recovery work of wires after the propulsion. SOLUTION: The thrust transmitting device A which is inserted into a propulsion pipe 1 comprising a synthetic resin pipe such as vinyl chloride pipe to transmit the thrust of a main pushing device to a propulsion machine comprises a transmitting member 2, on a part of the outer periphery of which an open portion 2a is formed along the entire length, a shelf 3 opposed to the portion 2a, end plates 4, 5 attached to the longitudinally opposite ends of the member 2 respectively. At a predetermined location of each of the plates 4, 5, a connection part 6 comprising a bolt hole or screw 7 for insertion of bolt, a bolt hole 6a for insertion of a bolt 9 by tightening it or a collar wherein a gap is provided to provide a play is formed. A plurality of steps are formed from the shelf 3 opposed to the portion 2a of the member 2, and on each step, wires and pipes required for effecting propulsion are mounted.
