A container closure for fast drying liquids includes a fluid applicator (17) connected to a closure element (15) which is secured over the container (7). The closure element (15) comprises a pair of lever arms (23) with inward facing protrusions (29) which engage a bulge (19) located on the container when the closure element is in the closed position. To remove the closure element, the user applies pressure at contact areas (31) of the lever arms (23), deflecting the arms about pivots (25) and compressing the elastic members (33) to cause the protrusions (29) to disengage from the bulges (19).
