PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace only an outside cover without disassembling a main body in the case of the surface condition unable to be continuously used due to dirt, an external flaw, or the like by making detachable the outside cover constituting double construction together with an insulating tube main body. SOLUTION: This insulating tube is constituted of an insulating tube main body 1 integrally formed outside a reinforced insulating cylinder 2 of FRP or the like and an outside cover 3, and both are made of polymer such as silicone rubber. The outside cover 3 having a helical form engaged with the pleat parts of helcal form formed on the insulating tube body 1 on the inner wall is made detachable from the insulating tube main body 1 by rotation utilizing the helical engagement. When leak current or the like due to deterioration by oxidation at leaving it as it is or dirt or wetting of the surface during electrifying exists, it can be continuously used by only replacing the outside cover 3, and disassembling and reassembling become unnecessary. It is desirable that the gap part between the insulating tube main body 1 and the outside cover 3 is filled with viscous insulating substance such as silicone grease or filler 4 or inert gas such as nitrogen, and hence insulation performance is prevented from degrading.
